Native Power, LLC is a tribal renewable power company whose objective is to support Native American economic development objectives through the development of renewable power projects on tribal land. Formed in January 2011, Native Power’s first project is a wind farm for the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Washington County, Maine.

John Richardson

An attorney, currently of counsel to Moncure & Barnicle in Brunswick, ME, Mr. Richardson was most recently the Commissioner of the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development. Previously, he served four terms in the Maine Legislature representing Brunswick, and rose to Majority Leader and Speaker of the House. He received his JD from Creighton University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland.

Catherine Renault

In addition to her duties at Native Power, Cathy owns her own firm, Innovation Policyworks, LLC. Previously, she was Director of the Maine Office of Innovation and science advisor to the Governor. Cathy’s PhD is from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and she also holds a MBA from the University of Virginia and a BA from Harvard University.

Steve Von Vogt

A strategic business leader and consultant with experience in a wide range of fields, Steve’s vision, financial and management acumen have been evident in his participation in a number of technology start-ups. Steve founded the Maine Wind Industry Initiative, and is intimately involved with the emerging supply chain for wind power in Maine. He earned his BA and MS from the University of Illinois and his MPA from Harvard University.
